LOST made its debut as a cult phenomenon in 2004 and since the very begining, certain things seemed inconceivable. In its fourth year, some of those things, like a rescue, came to pass. The season ended with Locke (Terry O’Quinn) attempting to persuade the Oceanic Six to return, but he dies before that can happen–or so it appears–and where Jack (Matthew Fox) used to lead, Ben (Emmy nominee Michael Emerson) now takes the reins and convinces the survivors to fulfill Locke’s wish.

As producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse state in their commentary on LOST’s fifth-season premiere, “We’re doing time travel this year,” and the pile-up of flashbacks and flash-forwards will make even the most dedicated fan dizzy. Ben, Jack, Hurley (Jorge Garcia), Sayid (Naveen Andrews), Sun (Yunjin Kim), and Kate (Evangeline Lilly) arrive to find that Sawyer (Josh Holloway) and Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) have been part of the Dharma Initiative for three years. The writers also clarify the roles that Richard (Nestor Carbonell) and Daniel (Jeremy Davies) play in the island’s master plan, setting the stage for the prophecies of Daniel’s mother, Eloise Hawking (Fionnula Flanagan), to play a bigger part in the sixth and final season.

Many other characters come in and out of the equation, some never to return. A few, such as Jin (Daniel Dae Kim), make an appearance once again this year. Lost, even after five seasons, continues to excite and surprise. Dexter Morgan a blood splatter analyst who works for the Miami Metro Police Department, also happens to be a serial killer. Dexter the showtime drama series depicts the character Dexter Morgan, played by Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under )through his day to day life trying to balance his normal job and family with his abnormal hobby.
Dexter, the show was strongly inspired by a series of Dexter novels written by Jeff Lindsay. After the success of Season 1 to 3, showtime awarded Dexter a fourth and fifth season.
With excellent actors such as Michael C. Hall, Julie Benz, Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington and Erik King Dexter has encountered its fair share of controversy. Part of Dexter’s core is the fact that the audience will take his side. Yes, Dexter is a serial killer, but he kills bad guys, and since that idea falls under the gray part of morality, Dexter does encounter criticism. Due to its sensitive matter, Dexter will not likely be aired on a Public network any time soon.
However Dexter does explore morality issues and does ask us to take a look at our selves. Dexter has recieved positive reviews from critics and audience a like.
Dexter is an excellent gift idea for the TV lover and is a wonderful addition to any collection!

Terminator Salvation is the foruth installment in the terminator series. Released in May 2009, Terminator Salvation takes place in 2018 after Skynet has taken control. Terminator Salvation refrences the orginal Terminator movie, by showing the audiance a young Kyle Reese played by Anton Yelchin and also describes the origina of the T-800 Model.
Terminator Salvation is up to date the most expensive independent production. It was filmed in New Mexico, and had a 200$ million budget. Unfortunatly,Terminator Salvation did not recieve many good reviews, but it did earn 371$ million worldwide.
Although it did recieve less the favorable reviews. Terminator Salvation is an excellent addition to the series. It refrences the original movies and adds new dimension to the story. Every, Terminator and science fiction fan shough give it a chance.
Oh and did i mention the one and only Governor of California, Arnold Schwartznerger makes an apperance.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (or Night at the museum 2) was relased in theaters on May 22, 2009. Staring Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Robin Williams, Amy Adams and Hank Azaria, Night at the Musem: Battle of the Smithsonian recieved mixed reviews from critics at the time of its relase. It was not only criticized for an excessive use of spcial effects but some of the acting was also picked apart (with the exception of Amy Adams and Hank Azaria).
Nevertherless, the film enjoyed public sucess. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian’s revues surpased those of the first Night at the Museumand it won the award for best comedy and the teen choice awards.
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is a good light hearted movie to watch comfortably on your couch during the long winter nights.



Angels & Demons, directed by Ron Howard and staring Tom Hanks (as Robert Langdon) and Ewan McGregor is the movie version of Dan Brown’s novel by the same name, Angels and DemonsFor the films Angels & Demons is the sequel to The Da Vinci Code, even though it is the opposite for the books. The movie recieved mixed reviews from critics and fans, but still enjoyed great success. it was the top grossing film of the year till the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Just like The Da Vinci Code Angels & Demons also enjoyed its share of contraversy due to its religious subject matter.
Packed with Action, beautiful images of Rome and Vatican City, non-stop intrigue and mystery, Angels & Demons will keep your eyes fixed on the screen till the end.

Julie & Julia juxstaposes the story of Julia Child during her early years as a chef and the story of Julie Powell who aims to cook every Julia Child recipie during the course of a year. The Comedy-drama directed by Nora Ephron, stars Meryl Streep and Amy Adams and was official released for theaters on July 30, 2009.
Julie & Julia was based on two different sources. The movie combined Julia Child’s autobiography, My Life in France as well as a blog written by Julie Powel that was later re-worked and published as a book, Julie/ Julia Project : 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Kitchen: How One Girl Risked Her Marriage, Her Job and Her Sanity to Master the Art of Living. The blog documented Julie Powell’s experiences cooking all of Julia Child’s recepies. Julie & Julia becomes the first motion picture to be based on a blog.
Julie & Julia recieved good reviews and opened at number 2 behind G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

This NBC mockumentary T.V. sitcom documents the office life of workers in a Pennsylvania town. The Office is filmed without a studio audience and uses the single camera set-up to make the show seem like a documentary, so the characters are very well aware of the camera.

The Office was originally a comedy series on the United Kingdom BBC channel. NBC picked up the idea and got Steve Carell (Anchorman, Little Miss Sunshine, Get Smart, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Evan Almighty to star in the American version of the show. The Office has done very well and the Sixth Season has recently started on NBC.

Many people enjoy The Office, for its cynical humor and it’s real-life resemblance to a real Office environment. It is a great series to own!

This british movie was filmed in India and tells the story of a young Indian boy from the slums of Mumbai who ends up on an Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? . After the boy does much better than expected, the game show host and police get suspicious. The film follows the boy’s journey on the show and re-tells an extradordinary tale of a boy from the slums of Mumbai.

No Country for Old Men was the winner of the best picture at the 2007 Academy Awards celebration. It is the film adaptation of the novel No Country for Old Menby Cormac McCarthy. The film was by the Coen brothers and stars Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin. No Country for old Men tells the story of a drug deal gone wrong and the concequences that follow. The themes of fate and circumstance are extremly strong within this story.

The Departed a film directed by Martin Scorses and staring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin and Mark Wahlberg was the 2006 Best picture winner at the Academy Awards (of that same year). The films tells the story of and Irish Mob boss who discovers a way to have an informant inside the State Police department. However, at the same time, the ploice plant an informant within the mob boss’ crew. Both sides fight to discover the true idenities before the other side.

Crash was the winner for best picture at the 2005 Academy Awards. This drama is the brainchild of co-witter, producer and director Paul Higgis. Crash addresses the issues of social tension within an urban, multicultural city. The movie is heart-breaking and inspiring all at the same time. Crash tells the story of a variety of characters coming from different social and economic backgrounds and how their lives are defined by those background.

Million Dollar Baby won best picture at the 2004 Academy Awards. The film was directed and co-produced by Clint Eastwood. Eastwood also stared in Million Dollar Baby along side Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman. Paul Haggis wrote the screenplay and based it on a collection of short stories that were called Rope Burns: Stories From the Corner, but has since been republiched and re-titled Million Dollar Baby: Stories from the Corner by F.X. Toole. The Movie Million Dollar Baby tells the story of a boxing trainer, still trying to prove his worth dispite his obscure past. He looks for validation while training a female boxer. Although an underdog at the beginning she fights her way through many obstacles to try and attain her dream of becoming a professional boxer.
